Sigismund Fischer held patent # 555,313, Feb 25, 1896, Pat # 595,911 in 1897, Pat # 603,230 1898 and Pat # 669,338 1901. About 1895 Fischer began production of the Fischer Electric Clock Company, New York and sold clocks under that name. Shortly there after an association was formed with the New York Standard Watch company to make clocks under their label and lasted until 1902 when the company was sold to the Keystone Watch Case Company and in 1903 production of clocks was halted. The New York Standard Watch Co. clocks were distinct in style and operation. They operate without springs and are powered by the impulse that drives the pendulum. As the pendulum arc is reduced the Hipp Toggle arrangement is engaged causing the electrical connection to engage and drive the pendulum. Some styles had sweep second hands but this one did not. The star adjustment in the middle of the pendulum bob and the rate star on the bottom of the pendulum were unique to this clock.
